Memo AI is now on the Mac. Record online meetings without a bot, think out loud at your desk, and find every memo again on your iPhone. Your library syncs through iCloud.
Memo AI 1.3.1 for iPhone is out at the same time. It brings split memos, speaker management, and a new plain-language writing style. Here is everything that is new.
Memo AI for Mac
Memo AI for Mac is a native Mac app for the place where most meetings happen. It has everything you know from the iPhone app (transcription, AI summaries, action items, speaker labels, and chat) plus features made for the desktop.
Record meetings without a bot
Memo records your microphone and the meeting audio at the same time. No bot joins your call, and nobody sees a stranger in the participant list. It works with call apps like Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams, and with calls in your browser.
Call detection. Memo notices when you join a call and offers to record it with one click.
Meeting reminders. Give Memo access to your calendar, and it reminds you one minute before a scheduled video call starts.
Start Recording Automatically. Turn it on in Settings › General › Meetings, and Memo starts recording when a call begins. When the meeting ends, the recording stops on its own.
A recorder in your notch
While you record, a small recorder opens under your camera with the timer, pause, and stop. It stays out of the way of your work.
Menu bar. Start a recording from anywhere, and see your next meeting at the top of the menu.
Microphone choice. Select the microphone you want to use and check the input level before you start.
Resume Recording. Forgot something? Continue recording into the same memo, and Memo updates the summary.
Summaries, speakers, and chat
Every recording becomes a clear note with key points, action items, and the numbers and dates that matter. Memo detects who is speaking. Name a speaker once, and Memo recognizes that voice again, on all your devices.
Ask your memos anything. The chat searches all your recordings, answers with the details, and links the memos it used.
Syncs with your iPhone
Your memos, chats, speakers, and settings sync through iCloud. Record a meeting on your Mac, then read the summary on your iPhone on the way to the next one.
Made for the Mac
Keyboard shortcuts. ⌘N starts a new memo, ⌘⏎ stops and saves, and the arrow keys move through your memos.
Right-click menu. Share, export, or change the category of a memo directly from the sidebar.
AI Connectors. Connect Claude or Codex in Settings › AI › AI Connectors. Your AI assistant can then search your memos, read summaries, and even follow the live transcript of a running recording.
Your audio, your choice. You decide if Memo keeps the audio of your recordings.
Did you talk about two topics in one recording? Tap a segment in the transcript, tap ⋯, and select Split Memo Here. You get two memos, and each one gets its own summary.
Manage speakers
Speaker labels from 1.3 are now much easier to correct.
Change the speaker of one segment (tap the segment, then ⋯ › Speaker of This Segment), fix many segments at once, or rename a speaker in all segments.
Settings › Speakers shows all the people you named. Change their color, merge them, or delete them.
Detect Speakers Again: tell Memo how many people spoke, and it detects the speakers again.
Memo recognizes speakers that you named before, also on your other devices.
Plain Language
Turn on Plain Language in Settings › Writing Style, and Memo writes summaries in short, simple sentences. The notes are easier to read and easier to translate. It works in every language and applies to new and regenerated memos.
Also New
Action items: set a date, change the date, or delete an item
Change the date of a memo, and see the memo duration next to the date
Color style: select Subtle for neutral backgrounds
NotePlan export: export action items as tasks, checklists, or bullets. Each note links back to the original memo.
Archive and Trash now open directly from the memo list
